Tour Itinerary**
DAY 1 – September 19
Each participant should schedule their arrival in Israel to meet at the Gilgal Hotel in Tel Aviv by 6PM.
NOTE: In order to arrive in time, you must schedule your departure from the USA no later than September 18, giving close attention to arrival times in Israel.

DAY 2 – September 20 DOWNLOAD REGISTRATION
Today, you will make your way to the Sea of Galilee. Along the way, you will visit Caesarea, where Paul almost persuaded Agrippa to be a Christian; Mt. Carmel, where Elijah challenged the prophets of Ba’al; Megiddo, which guards over the Valley of Armageddon; Jezreel, the home of Ahab and Jezebel; and, finally the Nazareth Village, a first-century village that will provide a visual and cultural experience of village life in the times of Jesus.

DAY 3 – September 21

This day will be spent in the north. You will visit Tel Dan and see Jereboam’s altar and a rare mud brick gate from the time of Abraham. Next, you will drive up to Caesarea Philippi (Banias) where Peter made his confession, “Thou art the Christ, the son of the living God.” Returning by way of the Golan Heights you will stop at Bethsaida and Capernaum, Jesus’ Galilean ministry headquarters. Finally, you will see the ancient boat at Nof Ginnosar before sailing across the Sea of Galilee to end the day.
After a buffet dinner you will be free to visit the lake shore or hang out around the hotel and talk with others about the day’s activities.

DAY 4 – September 22

Heath Johnson of Paris, Texas laughs at the sensation of floating in the Dead Sea.
You will begin the day overlooking the Sea of Galilee from the Arbel Cliff. On your way to the Dead Sea, you will visit Bet Shean, the city where Saul’s body was hung on the wall, and Qasr el Yehud, a possible location of Jesus’ baptism. After arriving at your hotel, you will be able to float in the Dead Sea.

DAY 5 – September 23 DOWNLOAD REGISTRATION
A very early start will take you through the Dead Sea Valley, including stops at Masada, the En Gedi, Qumran, and Jericho before arriving in Jerusalem.

DAY 6 – September 24

Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount, Jerusalem
An early breakfast will get you ready for a wonderful day in Jerusalem, the Holy City. You will ascend the Temple Mount, the most sacred area in the world for Jews and the third holiest for Muslims. A visit to the Old Testament Jerusalem Model will help you understand the history and development of Jerusalem during the OT period. You will spend time in the Jewish Quarter, at the Southern Steps Excavations, and the City of David, which includes a walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. This 1750 feet long water channel takes you under the City of David to the Pool of Siloam (Jn 9).

DAY 7 – September 25
You will spend the morning in the Shephelah, the foothills west of Jerusalem. Stops include Tel Bet Shemesh and Tel Azekah.
In the afternoon, you will be back in Jerusalem visiting the Israel Museum, which includes the Jerusalem Model and the Dead Sea Scroll exhibit at the Shrine of the Book.

DAY 8 – September 26 DOWNLOAD REGISTRATION

Today will be a special day. After breakfast you will ascend the Mount of Olives for an overview of Jerusalem, the Kidron Valley and the Eastern Gate. Afterward, you will descend by foot to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was betrayed by Judas.
In the afternoon, you will visit Bethlehem and the Herodium, Herod the Great’s final resting place. Finally, you will visit the Garden Tomb to finish your Holy Land Visit.
After your farewell dinner you will have time to prepare your things for a morning return flight.
Overnight: Jerusalem
DAY 9 – September 27
You will say goodbye to Jerusalem and have an early morning transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your return flight with memories that you will cherish forever.
NOTE: All participants will have access to a hotel room until 10:00AM September 27. You may schedule your return flight from late evening September 26 through September 27. All participants will need to check out of the hotel by 10:00AM on September 27, 2019.

In the case that fifteen (15) participants fail to register and/or make final payment, the group may be canceled by Discipleship Travel LLC and all payments, less a $100/per person handling fee, will be returned. Alternatively, Discipleship Travel LLC and the group leader may agree on a supplement to be paid by each participant to continue with the tour even though there are less than fifteen (15) participants. If the group fails to be viable, Discipleship Travel LLC is not responsible for, nor will Discipleship Travel LLC reimburse any expenses incurred by participants in preparation for the tour.

ITINERARY CHANGES: The related itinerary (DT1913G) is subject to change according to local conditions, which may include, among other things, weather, security and crowd considerations. If an itinerary change necessitates extra overnights, each participant will be responsible for the added costs.
INSURANCE: Discipleship Travel LLC recommends that each traveler purchase a travel insurance policy that will sufficiently cover any medical emergencies that may arise. If a traveler does not have sufficient insurance coverage, that traveler will be personally responsible for his/her own medical expenses and Discipleship Travel LLC assumes no liability for any such expenses.

PASSPORTS: All participants must have a valid passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond your return date. Any participant that intends to travel on a non-USA passport, should contact Discipleship Travel LLC to determine if an entry visa is required prior to arrival in Israel. The Government of Israel provides visa information here.
It is the responsibility of each participant to obtain and maintain a valid USA passport. Discipleship Travel LLC is not responsible to secure a passport for participants, nor for the validity of currently held passports.
Participants that do not have a valid USA passport, should apply for one immediately. It generally takes 8-12 weeks to receive/renew a passport.

PHOTOGRAPHY: By registering for this tour, participants give Discipleship Travel LLC permission to use and publish photographs in which they may be included for the use of promotion, print, editorial, advertising or other related purposes. Additionally, by registering for this tour, participants specifically release Discipleship Travel LLC from all claims and liability relating to said photographs.
BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE: Due to airline contracts, bus size, and included porterage, are allowed one checked bag, not to exceed 62 inches (length plus width plus depth) and 50 lbs. Participants may also bring one small carry-on item. Participants should consult the airline’s international baggage regulations as restrictions frequently vary by airline and may change without notice.

Can I get a single room?
Yes, there are a limited number of single rooms available. However, there is a single supplement fee of $725 required for a single room, which is due with final payment. Please note that if a participant does not want OR does not have a roommate, there a single supplement fee is required.
When should I schedule my arrival in Israel?
Each participant should schedule their arrival in Israel in order to meet at the Gilgal Hotel in Tel Aviv by 6PM.
NOTE: In order to arrive in time, you must schedule your departure from the USA no later than September 18, giving close attention to arrival times in Israel. Be aware that some September 18 departures will not arrive in Israel until September 20. If you need/desire to arrive earlier than September 19, 2019, we can make hotel arrangements for you for an additional fee.
When should I schedule my departure from Israel?
The last tour event is scheduled for late afternoon on Thursday, September 26, 2019. All participants will have access to their hotel room until 10:00AM, September 27, 2019.
You may schedule your departure for late PM on September 26 through September 27, 2019.
Regardless of the time of your departure, you must check out of the hotel by 10:00AM, September 27, 2019. If you need/desire to stay longer, there will be an additional charge.
How can I get from the airport to the hotel or from the hotel to the airport in Tel Aviv?
Each participant is responsible for the cost of their airport transfers from the airport and back to the airport in Tel Aviv. You should budget approximately $25 each way.
Upon arrival in Tel Aviv, you can take a shared or private taxi to the Gilgal Hotel.
To get back to the airport from Jerusalem, you can ask the hotel desk to request Nesher Sherut to pick you up at a designated time. The shuttle van will pick you up near the hotel and take you to the airport departure entrance. This is a shared-van, so you may have a number of stops on the way to the airport in order to pick up other passengers.

Are all tips and taxes included?
All tips and taxes are included. A generous tip for drivers, guides, and servers is included in the tour price, but if you appreciate the service provided you are certainly welcome to leave an additional tip on the table or add to the amount provided for the guide and driver at the end of the trip.
What out-of-pocket expenses should I expect?
Lunches will be approximately $20 each day. Soft drinks and ice cream cost about $2-3 each. Bottled water is $1-3, and will be available on the bus each day. You can spend from $1 to $1,000s on souvenirs and collectibles. If you are interested in visiting the diamond factory, please inform your guide so that he can make arrangements.
How much walking will we be doing?
The average day includes approximately 3-5 miles of walking. This is not done in a single walk; rather it is done in small increments throughout the day, and you will have opportunities to rest along the way.
Please begin preparing for this element of the tour now. Start by doing small walks, then slowly build up your distance. Also, include some inclines (hills or stairs) in your routine.
