as they journey through the Holy Land
May 27 – June 7, 2018

Tammy and I invite you to join us on the discipleship adventure of a lifetime. Our teacher, Dr. Craig Dunning, will lead us through the land. We will walk where Jesus walked, where Elijah called down fire from heaven, where David killed Goliath, and so much more. We will even raft down the Jordan River and sail across the Sea of Galilee. Your faith will reach new depths as you experience the Bible on location. Space is limited, so respond quickly!

Tour Itinerary:**


Departing from Boston, the group will connect with an overnight flight to Tel Aviv.

DAY 2 – May 28


Sunset over the Mediterranean, Netanya, Israel

You are scheduled to arrive in Tel Aviv in the the afternoon. and will transfer to your hotel in Netanya, on the coast of the Mediterranean. After dinner, you will have a free evening to visit with friends at the hotel or walk along the beach.

Today, you will make your way to the Sea of Galilee. Along the way, you will visit Caesarea, where Paul almost persuaded Agrippa to be a Christian; Mt. Carmel, where Elijah challenged the prophets of Ba’al; Megiddo, which gaurds over the Valley of Armageddon; and, finally the Nazareth Village, a first-century village that will provide a visual and cultural experience of village life in the times of Jesus.

DAY 4 – May 30

This promises to be a beautiful day as you focus on the ministry of Jesus. You will visit the Mount of Beatitudes, Capernaum, Jesus’ ministry center in the Galilee, worship on the Sea of Galilee as you take a boat across the lake to a St. Peter’s Fish lunch. After lunch, you will visit the baptismal area at the Jordan River, then finish the day’s study tour by getting an overview of Jesus’ Galilean ministry from Mt. Arbel.

Some will choose to hike down the cliff, others will choose the bus ride down. After a buffet dinner you will be free to visit the lake shore or hang out around the hotel and talk with others about the day’s activities.

This day will be spent in the north. You will visit Mount Hermon and see and raft on the headwaters of the Jordan River. At Dan, you will see Jereboam’s altar and a rare mud brick gate from the time of Abraham. Next, you will drive up to Caesarea Philippi where Peter made his confession, “Thou art the Christ, the son of the living God.” Finally, you will return to your hotel by way of the Golan Heights you

After a buffet dinner you will be free to visit the lake shore or hang out around the hotel and talk with others about the day’s activities.

DAY 6 – June 1

On today’s itinerary are Bet Shean, the city where King Saul’s body was hung by the Philistines; Gideon’s Spring, where Gideon selected his small army; Mt. Gerezim, where the Samaritans still worship; and Shiloh, the primary worship center of ancient Israel prior to Solomon building the first temple.

After breakfast you will ascend the Mount of Olives for an overview of Jerusalem, the Kidron Valley and the Eastern Gate. Afterward, you will descend by foot to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was betrayed by Judas.

After lunch you will see the Dead Sea Scrolls in the Shrine of the Book and a scale model of first century Jerusalem. Both are located at the Israel Museum. You will finish the day in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem.

DAY 8 – June 3

An early breakfast will get you ready for a wonderful day in Jerusalem, the Holy City. You will ascend the Temple Mount, the most sacred area in the world for Jews and the third holiest for Muslims. You will visit the Pool of Bethesda (Jn 5) and walk a portion of the Via Dolorosa. You will visit the Western Wall and the Southern Wall excavations. You need water shoes to end the day with a walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. This 1750 feet long water channel takes you under the City of David to the Pool of Siloam (Jn 9).

A very early start will take you to the Dead Sea Valley, including stops at Masada, the Dead Sea, Qumran, and Jericho. In the evening, you will visit the Rabbinic Tunnel.

Overnight: Jerusalem

DAY 10 – June 5

Today will be a special day. You will start the day in Bethlehem where you will visit the Church of Nativity and the Shepherd’s Fields. Afterward, you follow the path of David from Bethlehem to the Elah Valley, where he defeated Goliath. On the way back to Jerusalem you will recount the story of Samson at Beth Shemesh.

After breakfast you will visit the Christian Quarter and the Garden Tomb to remember the death and resurrection of Jesus. After an early lunch, you will visit the Holocaust Museum, then celebrate your study tour at a farewell dinner.

After dinner you will transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your return flight.

DAY 12 – June 7

After an overnight flight, you will arrive back to Boston with a lifetime of memories.
